We’re an independent strategy and production partner supporting unions, progressive organizations, and civic leaders doing real work in the world.

Origin and point of view

Production for the People was founded in 2011 with a simple belief.

Social impact work deserves the same level of rigor, strategy, and creative execution as any high-stakes commercial campaign.

 

We saw too many organizations doing meaningful work with content that did not reflect the stakes, the people, or the moment they were in. The gap was not passion. It was clarity, alignment, and execution under real conditions.

 

Our work exists to support movements, unions, and civic leaders by helping them communicate with purpose and credibility when it matters most.

How we show up

We work as partners, not vendors.

 

That means showing up early, asking hard questions, and staying accountable from strategy through delivery. We operate inside real campaign environments, where timelines shift, pressure is constant, and decisions matter.

 

Our role is to bring calm, judgment, and execution that holds up in the real world.

Team

We are a small, senior-led team with deep experience in campaign strategy, production, and movement work.

 

We collaborate with trusted partners when projects require additional scale or specialization, while maintaining consistent oversight, standards, and accountability.

Chris Olivarez

Chris leads strategy and creative direction at Production for the People, working alongside unions, progressive organizations, and civic leaders on high-stakes campaigns. His background spans digital strategy, video production, and communications, with experience building and managing national production teams across the U.S. He focuses on clarity, relationships, and storytelling that holds up in real-world conditions.

Associate Communications Strategist

Alisa Rivera

Alisa is a communications strategist and digital organizer with experience leading campaigns for unions, nonprofits, and progressive organizations. Her work spans messaging, digital organizing, and integrated programs across SMS, social, and content. She brings a blend of campaign, journalism, and teaching experience to strategic planning and execution.

Juliett Olivarez

Juliett leads operations and strategic coordination at Production for the People, overseeing production workflows, financial management, and organizational planning. With a background in psychology, she brings a systems-level approach to execution and team dynamics, and supports advocacy initiatives focused on building innovative support systems for foster youth.

Demian Tajeda-Benitez

Demian supports production and post-production across projects, coordinating logistics and editing digital media for campaign and organizational work. He brings a strong eye for detail and a steady hand to fast-moving environments. His work ensures content is executed cleanly, efficiently, and ready for real-world deployment.
